This scholarship is open to any prospective student in the United States who plans to enroll in a trade or vocational school, 2 or 4 year university, accredited community college or other automotive higher education institution within the next 12 months.
The applicant must complete a short essay (500 words or less) detailing why they are pursuing an automotive degree.
The applicant must provide a phone number and email address for correspondence about the grant award selection process.
The Future Mechanic Grant for the Fall/Winter Semester is a one-time financial gift of $1,000.
The grant will be awarded to the applicant who best answers the application criteria, including the short essay.
The award funds may be applied to any expenses associated with pursuing an automotive degree or certification.
This is a one-time financial gift and does not need to be paid back to Trade School Future.
Applying for the Grant
Applicants for the Future Mechanic Grant must complete their application through the online form below. The application requires the name, phone number and email address of the applicant as well as a short essay detailing the applicant’s motivation for becoming a mechanic or technician.
August 20th, 2018: Application form becomes available and application period opens
August 20th, 2018 – December 31st, 2018: Application period open. Applications will be accepted.
January 1st – January 14th, 2019: Judging panel selects recipient of grant award.
January 15th, 2019: Grant award recipient notified via email or phone.
Funds will be sent to the recipient within two weeks of notification of their selection.
The decision of the award recipient selection committee is final. Trade School Future has the sole right to resolve any disputes which may arise in the selection of the winner.
By applying for this grant, the applicant gives permission for Trade School Future to potentially use their name, essay and photograph for marketing purposes.
By submitting an application, you are granting permission for Trade School Future to contact you with information about the grant, selection process and awards as well as future grant opportunities that come up through this site. The applicant will also have the option of allowing automotive schools to contact them with information about their programs, but this is not mandatory.
